Whether or not we choose to admit it, we all want to be liked. It is no news that it can be frustrating if you can't get a single person to like you. So you've been battling with not being liked, or maybe people already like you, but you want to be more intentional about getting people to like you. Here are a few tips to get people to like you:

Smile. One easy way to get people to like you, is to smile often. Have you noticed that kids that smile have more adults that carry and play with them? When you smile, you spread warmth, and you make people comfortable with you. Smiling shows people that they're welcomed and you wouldn't mind their company. So next time you go friend hunting, be sure to wear a smile.

Be Approachable. It's easy to get people to like you if you're easy to approach. By easy to approach, I mean easy to talk to. You can't be all hard on people and expect people to like you. So an easy way to deal with this is to be calm and friendly.

Show Interest. If you forget any rule in life, then do not ever forget this one: people are interested in themselves. An easy way to get people to like you, is to be interested in them. In getting people to like you, more important than being interested in people, is showing your interest. How then do you show your interest? Have conversations with them and make sure the talk stays on them, ask what they're interested in and talk about what they're interested in. Listen. The world has more talkers than listeners, so a good way to get people to like you, is to be there to listen. This helps people feel that you're really interested in them. And when I say listen, I don't mean pretend to listen, I mean really listen.

Talk more. Now I don't mean talk too much. Effective communication doesn't just involve listening, it involves talking. You don't want to leave people guessing what's on your mind right? So say it. This helps them understand you more, making it easier to like you.

Compliment them. We all like to be complimented, don't we? So an easy way to get people to like you is to compliment them. Tell them their shoe or dress is nice. Tell them they presented really well. Just compliment them, and you'll win them.
