Kindness to Self

Life is hard. And you do not have to make it harder, by being hard on yourself. I know, sometimes kindness to self seems like a difficult task. And you're mad at yourself for a million reasons. For not winning the game, for not saying the right words, for not standing up for yourself, for being too short-tempered... It's easier to get mad than to show yourself some love. But tell me, where has that gotten you.  The many times you deprived yourself of kindness, you were filled with rage, bitterness. You felt empty.. and tired. Well it's time for a change. From now, you'd look at yourself with mercy. First you must understand that we're all human, and we all make mistakes. Like you, everyone else has had moments they aren't proud of. But each one of us must show ourselves selflove, if we would make the world a better place.  How To Be Kind to Self.    1 . Put the Past in the Past: Really, why have you decided to pull the past with you despite it's heavy weigh...

What Self Love is.

I got new slippers. I noticed that I clean it very often. My slippers are so pretty I don't let anyone mess with them. Yes, I clean all my footwear, but I give special attention to these navy blue slippers because I love them.  I give similar care to my phone, my black backpack which I carry almost always. As I watch myself care so much for these things I paid for, and can easily replace, I ask myself why I don't care for myself like I care for my stuff. Funny right? I really can get a prettier navy blue slippers, and another black backpack I'd love, but I'd never get another me, and I love these things more than I love me?  Oh I know you'd tell me I love me a lot, and that's why I get myself pretty stuff, but if I love me, why then have I let my thoughts about myself be an unhealthy place for me? Why do I let myself think that I am not enough? Or that I can never get to the top? Why do I constantly put myself down? Why do I wish I had someone else's face o...

The Power Of Touch

By Zaynerb I was on my phone reading a post. Now I've been listening to her talking about how hurt she is and how much pain she's been through. As she poured her heart out, I made sure to put my phone away to listen to her speak. I did this to make her comfortable and to assure her she had my attention. And as she spoke, I didn't speak, I only listened. Soon she stopped talking. And I said; "may Allah ease our task".  I thought it was all over and maybe she still doesn't entirely feel good, but she certainly feels better. After all I gave her attention. As she lay down to rest I went back to my phone. It was really quiet and I was unsuspecting. Unconsciously, I looked at her and I didn't notice it at first. She was staring at the ceiling and I kept looking at her. That was when I noticed the tear that rolled down her eyes. I knew that tear very well. Tear that comes silently but bears the heavy weight of immense pain and sadness of the heart. It was te...

A Special Teacher

Jean Thompson stood in front of her fifth grade class on the very first day of school in the fall and told the children a lie. Like most teachers, she looked at her pupils and said that she loved them all the same, that she would treat them all alike. And that was impossible because there in front of her, slumped in his seat on the third row, was a little boy named Teddy Stoddard. Mrs. Thompson had watched Teddy the year before and noticed he didn't play well with the other children, that his clothes were unkept and that he constantly needed a bath. And Teddy was unpleasant. It got to the point during the first few months that she would actually take delight in marking his papers with a broad red pen, making bold X's and then marking the F at the top of the paper biggest of all. Because Teddy was a sullen little boy, no one else seemed to enjoy him, either. At the school where Mrs. Thompson taught, she was required to review each child's records and put Teddy...

It's A New Day

The morning has come to me, and the whole universe belongs to Allah. I ask Allah for the good of the day, its  aid, its success its blessings and its nur.  And I seek refuge with Allah from the evil of the day, from the evil of that which He has created, and from the evil of that which is to come later.  PS: Allah means God.        Nur means light  I say the above prayer as I get out of bed. I perform ablution and offer my prayers for a new day has come to me. Many are there that wish to have the words "Its a new day" on their lips this morning, but the Mighty One (God) didn't give them such privilege. So with gratitude in my heart I say quietly to myself: "It's a new day". It's a new day, so I left yesterday's worries yesterday. It's a new day so I left yesterday's grudges yesterday. It's a new day so I left yesterday's anger, hate and pain yesterday. It's a new day so I left every troubling thought yesterday. ...
