If Ramadan Isn't Enough Motivation

Assalamualaikum. I pray this meets you well. Ramadan Mubarak

So you spent months thinking what went wrong with your relationship with God. You thought of reasons why you're so far from God. Why it's not so easy to recite the Qur'an anymore. Why you don't pray nawafil anymore. In fact, you can't even remember the last time you prayed tahajjud.

Not wanting to blame yourself, you gladly put the blame on work. Don't smile. Yes, you. You that put the blame on school. You also don't have enough excuse.

Now when you speak you say, "I used to read the Qur'an." "I used to spend my night in prayers." Do you hear yourself? "I used to." May Allah rectify our affairs.

Now Ramadan is here and you let the days and nights go by like every other day and night? Did you hear the applause? Its for you. You're fasting Ramadan, Alhamdullilah!

You spend your day fasting but is that enough? No, you don't recite the Qur'an. You don't stop lying. Now I can't stop laughing...you still watch movies with you know, little sex scenes. I hail. You're doing well. And you believe that? No! You're not doing well!

Pay close attention please to the sentences that come next. Ramadan comes only once a year, why waste this golden opportunity?Listen, you've probably wasted most of your time this year doing things that will not benefit you when you stand before your Lord, but I plead with you, allow Ramadan change the state of your heart positively.

If Ramadan isn't enough motivation to do good, then what month of the year would inspire you to draw close to Allah.

Let Ramadan motivate you to pray, to give charity,to recite Qur'an, to do all that is good. Most of all, allow it inspire you to remain steadfast after Ramadan.

Keep in mind beloved, that there's no guarantee that you'll be alive next Ramadan or even till the end of this Ramadan. So make the most of this Ramadan.

May Allah grant us long lives in good health.

How Inspiration Comes

It comes in form of a rush. I mean my inspiration. Just a moment ago, it wasn't here and now its here. One thing I'm sure of - if I don't put this down right now, it'll be gone and I wouldn't have it back. If by chance I get it back, it wouldn't be the way it came now. Inspiration's weird right? But what can we do? Have I mentioned already that its inspiration to write that I refer to in this post? I like to sleep with a pen and paper on my bed, because right when I close my eyes to sleep, that's when the words come to me. Now I have two options. I either close my eyes and dream, or I pick up my pen and paper to pour down ink. The end result of the first is a good sleep. While the end result of the second, is what you now read. Well then, this doesn't mean that when I drop my pen, I wouldn't sleep. I still will. But inspiration comes from several other things. Inspiration could come from how the clock ticks. It could come from how your...

A Special Teacher

Jean Thompson stood in front of her fifth grade class on the very first day of school in the fall and told the children a lie. Like most teachers, she looked at her pupils and said that she loved them all the same, that she would treat them all alike. And that was impossible because there in front of her, slumped in his seat on the third row, was a little boy named Teddy Stoddard. Mrs. Thompson had watched Teddy the year before and noticed he didn't play well with the other children, that his clothes were unkept and that he constantly needed a bath. And Teddy was unpleasant. It got to the point during the first few months that she would actually take delight in marking his papers with a broad red pen, making bold X's and then marking the F at the top of the paper biggest of all. Because Teddy was a sullen little boy, no one else seemed to enjoy him, either. At the school where Mrs. Thompson taught, she was required to review each child's records and put Teddy...

How to Live a Happy Life.

Life's challenges has made our brain wired to 'survive.' Many believe that happiness is unattainable. No lies, life is full of its ups and downs, and sometimes we can't help but be sad, and that's understandable. But it would be self-destructive to think that it is impossible to live a happy life. Fasten your seat belts as you're about to learn how to stay happy even in sad moments!  1. Be Engrossed in the Positive: This doesn't mean lying to yourself about reality. I t means breaking down a seemingly challenging situation, identifying the pros and cons, and decidi ng to make the best of the moment.  To lead a happy life, you must redirect your thoughts from a negative perspective to a positive one.You can do this by knowing the negatives, but deciding to focus on the positive. Of course you need to look at the negative and figure a way out, but be careful not to become engrossed in the negative. 2 . Exercise regularly: Take this from me, exercise is a gr...
